One of your most important rights as a Texas taxpayer is your right to protest your property valuation to the appraisal review board (ARB).
How to Protest MY Property VALUES TO REDUCE MY TAXES
Congratulations on taking the first step to lower your property taxes! You will want to export your Home Tax Check evidence package from the online portal in your account. Quality evidence is the key to success. Please review the instructions on how to protest your property taxes to maximize your results. Learn the terms, what to expect and the best way to present your case online or in person.
If you are dissatisfied with your property tax protest results, you have the right to appeal the ARB’s decision. Depending on the facts and type of property, you may be able to appeal to the district court, to an independent arbitrator, or the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH).
PROTEST YOUR PROPERTY TAX CHECKLIST
To have a hearing and dispute the appraised value, you must file a protest with the Bexar County Appraisal District by May 15th.
You have two options to file: online E-File or via Mail.
